Unopened insulin
Store in the refrigerator at 2–8°C. Never freeze it — frozen insulin must be discarded.
Insulin in use
A pen or vial in use can usually be kept at room temperature (below 30°C) for up to 28 days. Check the leaflet for your specific insulin.
While travelling
- Carry insulin in your hand luggage, never in checked bags.
- Use an insulated pouch with a cool gel pack.
- Keep a copy of your prescription with you.
We ship insulin in insulated packaging with cold packs.
